Fight off the winter blahs and cold at the Januaryluncheon at the Camdenton VFW. The social portion of the luncheon begins at 11:00am,the business meeting will begin at 11:30 and lunch at 12:00 noon. Lunch will behaving a buffet of soups, build your own sandwiches and brownies. If you are avegetarian, you may order a salad from the restaurant.
The luncheon is $20. Advanced reservations arerequired. Reservations or cancellations must be made no later than 6pm on theSunday, January 14. For reservations contact Claudia Thomas at 319-329-0880.

Each month Newcomers/Longtimers supports a localcharity. This month’s charity is Habitatfor Humanity. Habitat for Humanity is aninternational, non-governmental and nonprofit organization founded in 1976.Habitat for Humanity is devoted to building “simple, decent, andaffordable” housing and has addressed the issues of poverty housing. The mission statement of Habitat for Humanity is “Seeking to put God’slove into action, Habitat for Humanity brings people together to build homes,communities and hope”. Homes are built using volunteer labor and Habitatmakes no profit on the sales. We won’task you to bring items for them, but their Restore is open Tuesdays, Thursdays,and Saturdays 9:00 – 1:00. They welcome any sinks, cabinets, windows,furniture, etc. you may be replacing and are not far from the VFW at 308 KeystoneIndustrial Park Drive.
